Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to SEK Dublin international school!

Mónica Prieto

This school year marks the 40th anniversary of the school. Located in a stunning setting, for 40 years, SEK Dublin has been delivering high quality international education to students from all over the world. We are proud to offer a solid holistic education that prepares students for the challenges of the future.

At SEK Dublin we offer the highly acclaimed and internationally recognised International Baccalaureate Programmes. This allows us to deliver an education where the learner is at the centre of the teaching- learning process. Our school is a dynamic environment that promotes discovery and exploration. In order to learn, students must interact and actively work to construct meaning through experience, reflection and collaboration.

Our goal is to provide learning experiences where students can develop critical thinking skills and can take responsibility for their own learning. Through reflection on the significance of their learning students are given the opportunity to take meaningful action. The students, therefore, develop the cognitive, affective, and social tools to become competent learners. At SEK Dublin, we promote cultural awareness and international mindedness by providing exciting activities that engage the learners and that take them to analyse the underlying structures and models inherent to every culture.

As part of their holistic development, we offer students a rich programme of extracurricular activities, where they can develop their creativity and their physical condition. We also offer students the opportunity to take part in the Gaisce President´s award, an all-round personal development programme that allows students to realise their potential by enhancing their confidence and wellbeing through participation in personal, physical and community challenges.

In our commitment to offer the best educational experience to our students, we continue to renew our school and our learning model. Based on the SEK Intelligent Classroom model, and the learning principles of the IB and NEASC , throughout this year we will continue the implementation of the SEK Future Learning Model, that encourages our students to become global citizens. We will also continue the  NEASC accreditation process, with the ACE learning principles, one of the most demanding quality standards certifications for international schools.

Finally, we are really proud of the opening of our brand new on campus boarding house, which houses boys and girls from different parts of the world. Our commitment to our boarders is to ensure a comfortable environment for personal and academic growth.
