MYP classes planted trees on campus for Arbor week in late April this year. Arbor day is historically devoted to tree planting, connecting people with trees and leaving a legacy for future generations. This is a valuable educational and environmental initiative. Learners are encouraged to plant and care for trees. ¨He who plants a tree, plants hope¨- Lucy Larcom. With the turmoil of the past many months and the challenges faced through Covid 19 and adapting to our ever changing world, this initiative was an opportunity to plant hope. For learners to nurture and care and watch the tree grow and mature. Representative of their own growth and development. A symbol of hope and their legacy at SEK Dublin International School.
What we can learn from a tree: stand tall and proud, go out on a limb, remember your roots, drink plenty of water, be content with your natural beauty, enjoy the view, stay grounded, connect with your roots, turn over a new leaf, bend before you break, keep growing, enjoy the sun, share your gifts with others, you can we a home, you matter, be strong, delicate is beautiful.
